Podcast: A World Tour Through Deutschlands Seenland
Houseboat Adventure Ahead
Adrian and Christoph from the travel podcast “Welttournee” weighed anchor, stowed their provisions, and set out on a true classic route. Their journey took them from Berlin-Spandau through Waren/Müritz in the Mecklenburg Lake District to Rheinsberg.
When you vacation on a houseboat, a view of the water is included. And there’s more than enough of it in Deutschlands Seenland. The region between Berlin, Brandenburg, and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern is the largest contiguous water sports area in central Europe.
First Podcast Episode
Houseboat Vacations: Preparation Is Key
In the first podcast episode, Adrian and Christoph share a few behind-the-scenes insights. What’s absolutely essential to bring on board, what’s the deal with the safety briefing and the chart certificate, which way is port and which way is starboard, how do the locks work, and what can you do in Spandau before setting sail?
Second Podcast Episode
Classic Houseboat Trip: From Berlin Heading North
In the second episode, Adrian and Christoph finally set off. They weigh anchor at Marina Lanke in Berlin-Spandau and set course for Brandenburg. They travel down the Havel River to Oranienburg and from there continue through the clay pit landscape of Zehdenick. Passing through Fürstenberg/Havel and the new lock near Steinförde, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern comes into view.
Third Podcast Episode
From the Mecklenburg Lake District to Rheinsberg
In the third episode, the creators of “Welttournee” recount their cruise through the Mecklenburg Lake District, including a shore excursion to Schlossinsel Mirow (castle island).
